Back to the 70's

I saw this doormat at Tarjay last week and had to have it. I made a dress out of fabric similar to this when I was in high school back in 1970.

A few days later I found these Ann Taylor capris at goodwill and they reminded me of my new doormat. Of course I had to have them too.

Then the next day I found this fabric on the clearance table at Hancocks and had to have some of it too. Are the 70's coming back??

The reason I remember the dress I made so well is one of the preppy money girls at church made fun of it. Lots of talk in the news these days of mean girls but there were lots of mean girls in the 60's and 70's when I was going to school too.
I never really fit in and now I'm so glad....I wear what I like and sew what I like and decorate with "junk" from yardsales and thrift stores and don't give a darn what the mean girls think! Thankful today for the internet and bloggy friends that are unique and creative.
