Finally a quilt picture
Baby Jesslyn on a quilt I made her mama a few years ago. I made this in workshop. A panel in the center but I can't remember the name of the blocks. I have a kit to make another one but can't find the block instructions. I may just use a disappearing nine patch. I think that would be alot faster.

A wee bit of sewing
Jessica's first baby shower is tomorrow. I made a minkee rag quilt and tried a onesie dress tutorial I found online. The blanket came together pretty well, but I had some tense moments with the onesie dress. I think I will change some things when I make another one. Anyway I hope Baby Boo will like what Mimi whipped up for her.

Project Runway is back
and my world is much better. I did have to break my "no Lifetime" tv rule. I loved the Masters show and thought Daniel's dress was awesome. I was pulling for Sweet P and think Diane V. loved her too. I thought there were some great dresses in the PR premiere too. I think it should be a great season.

Falling off the wagon
I have a confession to make. I have been posing on blogger as a quilter. I do enjoy sewing and hope to one day actually finish one of the many quilting projects I have started. This weekend while I was nursing a summer cold I stumbled upon a blog called Vintage Rescue Squad. I spent most of two days reading the entire blog and several other blogs she linked. I made an amazing discovery I AM NOT A Freak.....junkaholics abound and are airing their curbside finds and thrift store treasures in numerous blogs. I am a long time junker, past antique shop owner, major ebayer, auction ticket writer, antique mall space renter, estate seller...well you get the picture. A few years ago I became fed up with ebay and the potential for junk sales dried up in eastern NC, so I swore off junk. I promised myself I wouldn't buy new junk until I got rid of all the stuff in my house and garage. I have pretty much just closed my eyes to the piles of stuff everywhere. I still hit the thrift stores but swore off all yardsales and auctions. I am thinking of opening an etsy shop and going to force myself to start getting ready for a big autumn yard sale, this is huge since I absolutely hate having yardsales and dealing with the local yardsalers!

Peace by Piece Guild April
Kris and Roy quilted this for a customer. I wish the beautiful quilting showed up better in the picture.
Connie made the blue bag for a shop sample. I didn't get the name of the pattern. Love the picket top and the woven fabrics. She finished up her dishtowel bag that I tried to teach at the Feb. meeting. She changed the handles and top and I like hers better than the original.

Put me out of my misery....
this miserable piece of junk has been tormenting me. It will not start....none of my tricks will work......I ran away to the beach hoping the weeds in my yard would disappear......I have beat it and cussed it soundly but still it only buzzes at me.....I can't afford a new rider.....I am too darn old to push this yard....pet goats?? might work.....I hope I feel better after I push this misery maker to the curb and say some last words over it .....
Put me out of my misery
I'd do it for you,
Would you do it for me?
We will always be busy, making misery
so long miserable mower .... hope you do not RIP

What do Jaime Pressly and I have in common?
Nope just this
Another thing we don't have in common ... Jaime escaped!!!
Jaime's book is the buzz around town. I hear names are changed, but anyone from Ktown will know the cast.
All the Pressly talk brought to my mind the day before my high school graduation when Jaime's grandma gave me a very scary haircut. I started that day with really long hair. Impulsively I took myself to the community college for a trim. Mrs. Pressly told me I needed the newest look. Lots of layers in lots of thick curly hair = disaster!!!! Two salons and two haircuts later I had the Mia Farrow look (scalped). I had to put a dart in my graduation cap to keep it on my now ....much smaller head.
Thanks for the memories Jaime.....Ktown loves you

I am looking for 1 1/2 yards of this red fabric. It is Red Rooster Elm Creek ,Gerda's Collection. I have wasted alot of time today searching ebay and the internet for this fabric. I have 2 1/2 yds but need 4 yds for a project. If anyone has this to sell or spots it for sale somewhere please let know.
